With oldgermancoins.com, I want to provide a free online resource for collectors and numismatists who are interested in German coins minted before 1945. My own collection mainly consists of German States coins from Brandenburg and Prussia, which is why this website will primarily feature coins from that region. However, I will also try to provide a useful overview on German Empire coins, coins from the German colonies, circulating issues from the Weimar Republic and coins from the Third Reich.
First of all I want to provide you with information on the different types of coins that were minted in Germany between 1871 and 1945 as well as in the Kingdom of Prussia from around 1800 onwards. Apart from mintage numbers, weight, diameter and edge inscriptions I will continue to add valuations for every type of coin in F, VF and XF condition. These valuations are based mainly on auction results and realized market prices. This website will be extended steadily, so please make sure to drop by every now and then.
